THE FULL STORY
Daniel Biaggi is an award-winning and internationally connected opera executive and producer. After 15+ years in leadership positions, most notably as General Director of Palm Beach Opera, for which he received the 10 Year Dynamic Leadership Award from OPERA America, as well as Artistic Director of Portland Opera, Daniel founded Biaggi Arts Consulting and Biaggi Opera Privé.
Daniel has become a trusted opera advisor to a discerning clientele in particular as part of his success at Palm Beach Opera, which offered him privileged entry into the private lives of opera royalty and legacy family members alike. He possesses a unique perspective as a cultural ambassador with deep knowledge of the international opera scene as well as a certified Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy understanding the complex lives of ultra-high net worth individuals.
He is also General Manager of Drax Productions in New York, with whom he is developing a documentary series about the ‘behind the scenes’ of the opera world among other film, TV, and theater projects. With Biaggi Arts Consulting, he advises opera companies and young artist programs on strategic planning and individual artists on career development.
Daniel further held positions as Artistic Advisor to the Board of the Atkins Young Artists Fellowship Program at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg and as Associate Director at Guy Barzilay International Artists Management in New York. He was a faculty member at Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College of Music, and Sarah Lawrence College, and has given master classes and performance seminars at the Juilliard School of Music as well as the Chautauqua Voice Institute.
He is a frequent vocal competition judge including for the Metropolitan Opera's Laffont Competition, has served on the Board of OPERA America, was Chair of the Cultural Executive Committee of the Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership and Artistic Excellence from the National Society of Arts and Letters.
A classically trained opera singer, Daniel's education credentials include the Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Program “Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management”; certification as Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP, The American College of Financial Services); a Master of Music in Vocal Performance (Manhattan School of Music), a Bachelor of Music (San Francisco Conservatory of Music), and a Certificate of Musicology (University of Berne, Switzerland).
Daniel divides his time between Zürich and New York, loves to play tennis, practices yoga, swims, appreciates cooking and fine wine, and occasionally jumps out of planes.
